Funnies from yesterday

Shelby REALLY wanted to stay up last night to watch the "moonar" eclipse! Unfortunately, it was too late for us, and there were some snow clouds in the way. "

And Colesy saw that Shelby has a dimple in her cheek, so she asked me last night"Mom, do I have nipples on my cheeks?"

How do you not crack up over that?!

Birthday Boy

Matt's birthday was on a Tuesday.  After school, we ran home and made lasagna and jell-o cake for him.  His favorites.  We had our good friends the Baileys over to celebrate with us.  Of course, the things I ordered for him as gifts didn't arrive until the next week, and he got sick with that nasty flu bug later that night, but at least he was able to enjoy the yummy meal first!  The girls helped him blow out the candles.  It was a fun and last minute thing.  I called Connie about 1:30 and asked if they could come, then stopped for all the ingredients on the way home from school. The girls and I raced the clock to get it all done in time.  We did...barely!  Happy 32 to Matt!

Limo Lunch!

When the kids sold cookie dough earlier in the fall, one of the prizes was a limo lunch.  Both girls sold enough to will this prize.  So, a couple weeks ago, the limo arrived and made 4 trips to transport the 37 students to Pizza Hut for a free buffet lunch.  As secretary, and the one who keeps track of everything sold, I was asked to be a chaperone again this year.  I was able to ride over to Pizza Hut with the girls.  They LOVED it.  They were pretending they were Hannah Montana! :o)  Kenny was the driver.  He was an interesting character!  I was unable to catch a ride back until a later group of high schoolers were returned to school.  Kenny drove us around town for about 20 minutes before dropping us at school.  It was fun.  Thank you to all of you who bought tubs of cookie dough for allowing us to be winners.

Matt's Guitar

For Christmas last year (2006) Matt bought a guitar kit and spent what spare time he found working on it in the basement.  This is the finished result.  He did such a good job on it.  I'm still amazed (in a good way!) when I walk in his room and see a real guitar.  And I still cant turn the photo!  oh well.  At least you got a new thing to look at!

A walk down memory lane...

This is the flower girl dress that mom made for me for Bob and Kari Smiths wedding.   (Okay, I dont know how to turn the photo, but you get the idea.)  Mom even saved the ribbon that I wore that day.  Shelby had it in her hair too.  Mom gave it to me one of the last times I was home.  It is a pretty horrible color, especially for a wedding.  I'm fairly confident the other color was baby blue!  YIKES!!!  However, it was fun for me to have her wear it the other day.
