So, a couple weeks ago, I had Shelby at Dr. Roscoe's for her allergy shot. For some unknown reason, it was PACKED in the waiting room.  So, we had to wait longer than usual, and there were a lot more people to eavesdrop on!  The comment I got the best chuckle out of was as follows:
"They really should move GroundHogs  day to January so he has a better chance of predicting right."  Helloooooo! I was under the distinct impression that she was 100% SERIOUS!!!  I almost laughed out loud, but was able to hold it in - for the time.  Had to share!

Weekend pictures.

Something was funny!
I think it might have been me! Yikes

Oscar

This is all the remains of Oscar the Buck!
Matt got a European mount done.
I know it sounds like I might know what I'm talking about, but: I don't!
He put it up in his room.  I had originally told him to find a way to mount it in the pickup! This is okay though - out of my way anyhow.

I found the girls snuggled up together in Colesy's bed the other day watching a movie. They were too cute! - Especially since it was their idea!

My snow girls!

:)

Aren't we silly?

Snow...

It started to snow this morning. We shoveled and snow blew before noon.  By then, we already had about 6-7 inches.  Matt and Dan are the deacons on duty this month, so they ran up to church and cleared the sidewalks this afternoon to make tomorrow AM easier.  We got a few more inches this afternoon, and another 3-5 tonight, and then it is supposed to sleet and freezing rain anywhere from 1/2-2 inches after that.  Sounds fun, huh? Too bad it is the weekend! :)

Shelby's new frames

Shelby got new glasses. The doctor was FAST! her appointment was Monday, and they called Tuesday evening saying they were ready to be picked up.  Yesterday was a snow day, but we ventured to DuBois to pick them up. Once we go there, Shelby alerted me to the fact that she had a fever and achy legs.  so, we came home, but only after we got the new glasses.  She picked the frames out herself.  She is too cute!

Once we got home, she camped on the couch for the rest of the day.  Poor little girl. I sent her to Grammys today.  If that doesnt make her feel better, nothing will!

Okay, so you can't really see this at all.  I was standing in the kitchen when we got home from school today, working on thinking about dinner. Colesy was busy working on something.  Eventually, she threw a wee little paper, folded in a million folds and then taped shut, up on the counter where I was working.  I asked her if I was supposed to open it.  She said yes, so I untaped and unfolded and found the following note:
"Mom I am so hurgie I am going to die if i do not get something to eat SOON"
(Original spelling and punctuation (or lack there of!))

She makes me smile.  So much time and effort put into the note...  She should have saved that energy and put it towards survival!

new old shelf

Well, it was decided that a book shelf was necessary, but one was not available at the time of the room re-do last June.  I was in Goodwill a couple weeks ago and found this bookshelf. I wasn't convinced it was the right one.  After thinking about it, I went back and since it was still there, I convinced myself it was a sign!  I bought it and brought it home.  All of Connie's books fit one it. (They were previously in boxes behind the couch, and lining the wall be the stairs!)  I like the way the corner turned out. The girls have some of their books on the bottom shelf and they like to sit in the corner and read.
