Damien (not for the squeemish!)

So, every once in a while our bone-head dog gets it in his brain that he needs to stretch his legs (run away!) Last Saturday, he got 'that look' in his eye, and off he went. I gave him afew minutes and then took the car looking for him. He is always THRILLED to see me when I go to get him. I'm not sure if its because he is happy to be seen 'out' or if he is done and ready to come home. Anyhow, I drove up the road not that far from the house and he is running towards me (coming home). He is running in a way that screams "Look at me! I'm SO proud of myself!" He has found a bign long crooked stick, and he is proudly displaying it as he prances up the road. I stopped the car to get him, and pondered how I would get him to leave his prize stick and get in the car - I had no plans to lug it home as well. HOWEVER! Upon closer inspection, he has a DEER LEG (hoof to hip)!!!
I'm thoroughly disgusted by the thought of hiim being in my car AFTER he carried that from who knows where! So, I had Colesy get out of the car to watch him while I went back to the house to get the leash. While I'm gone - the girls both kept an eye on him - but he proceeds to EAT the leg as quick as he can because he knows, apparently, that the end is near. When I got back with the leash, the hoof was still laying there, but he was crunching bone and had fur flying from his mouth.
I'm still grossed out by the thought! He went to his pen until he dried off and stopped smelling so much and then he got a long hot disinfecting bath!
Both girls were in the paper within the last month or so. Colesy was in with a couple friends making cookies for the craft fair. and Shelby was just in - a picture was submitted from the childrens Christmas Concert at church. She had her name misspelled (Brownless instead of Brownlee) which was dissappointing, but nonetheless, they continue to believe they are celebrities of sorts.

I'd put the photo in here - but I dont have a scanner - and well, I have limited computer skills! :)

Silly Girl!

With complete seriousness, Colesy asked the babysitter last night:

"How do you burn calories?
Do you light a match and put it in your belly?"

Turkey!

We grilled a turkey for New Years Day and it turned out YUMMY! We had wonderful friends over, and the kids played out in the snow for about 3.5 hours. It was crazy cold, but they had fun sled riding and playing in the "pine grove". They made a village and named is Sugar Creek (similar to Maple Town). It was a fun day!

Snow Day

Here he is: all done!
