More Oldies, but Goodies! hee hee

So, here we have me, Naomi, and Laurie Nagel. On the back packing trip mom took us girls on.  We even have whistles that match our outfits.  Good to see we have outgrown our dorkiness!

And of course,  matching dresses for me and Naomi. We were HOTT!

These ones must be from a church picnic - a few years before the ones Sharilyn has posted on hers!   Isnt that Melanie Lane??
Yep, those were the days!

A little old, a little new... :)

Somewhere around 1987?
In this now infamous photo, my rats, Zip and Zap are featured on top of my head.
(I'm fairly sure Naomi took this picture!)
Colesy got the Webkinz mouse (rat) for Christmas, and Matt thought it would be funny to "reinact" the previous photo.  Whatever.... :)
Actually, I think he said "Nelson would like to see this."

a wii little Christams gift...

Here are the girls preparing to open the wii.  They dont know what it is, but we do!

The were so excited! You see Shelby's behind as she leaps
to my lap to give me a hug and a BIG thank you!

More Christmas

Matt got his very own Grilling book. He is very happy!
Christmas Eve and the girls opening their stockings.
Can you see Colesy's face?!

More Christmas

Grammy and Papa with the girls in front of their tree.
Papa opening his knife from us.
Grammy with her blanket.
Grandma Mowrey getting the "Lady".  She is a white elephant gift that has been traveling since, well, as long as Debbie can remember. Zelma couldn't remember how long either, but she is an antique for sure!  The Mowrey side does the white elephant and it was cancelled this year. Shelby got the lady last year, and we didnt want to store her for a whole 'nother year, so we wraped her up and put Zelma's name on it from Secret Santa. She got a good chuckle out of it, and we no longer have her. Win-Win!
Shelby and Colesy with their lambies from Grammy.
Colesy has a lambie collectin, and so she was VERY happy!
(It's hard to smile BIG when you dont show teeth....)

Brownlee Christmas

Here we are, Christmas morning.  I've got a touch of a stomach bug, but otherwise, we're all good. Shelby had to memorize Luke 2:8-14 for Bible class, so she quoted that for us during the reading of the Christmas story.  She did so good!
Aunt Val and Uncle Jer got the girls a game for the wii.
They were so excited, and they LOVE to play it!
Aunt Sue-Sue got them each a digital camera. They are NICE!
Thank you Sue!
They are better than the one we have... maybe we'll do a switcher-oo.  hee hee
And all the girls got lamby slippers.  Arent they just cute?!

Colesy thought Daddy needed to have the ribbon tied around his head.
She was in rare form!
It was a fun night.

Christmas "Adam" at Grammy's and Papa's

Shelby, Colesy and Papa picking on each other.  Nut cases, one and all!
The girls with their Christmas tree ornaments from Suzie.
She sent them up, with a request that they open them early.
Colesy, Matt, Krissy and Shelby

Val and Jerry were only able to come up Monday and Tuesday, so we had dinner at Matt's parents last night and had a mini-christmas with them.  It was fun.

Lazy afternoon at Grams house

The girls roasted marshmallows by candle fire with Grammy, in the basement.
It was THE BEST fun!!!

Shelby and Colesy had a special part in the Sunday School Christmas program last night at church.  Here they are in their "costumes".

I'm getting old...

Shelby asked me tonight: "What are the Flintstones?"

Oh dear, I'm starting to feel it.  Soon, I'll be telling the stories about walking barefoot to school in the snow....  well, at least walking to school!

DCS Christmas Concert

I must have been really excited! All the pictures I took were a little blurry! (Maybe it was the retarded camera, and not the operator!) Anyhow, the girls were excited to dress up and wear their Christmas dresses from Grammy.  They did really good at the concert too.

Taboo!

We played a round of Taboo at our Sunday school Christmas party last weekend.  Boys vs. girls. It was fun.  My favorite one was: Asp.  The words not to say were, serpent, Cleopatra, etc.  The clue we were given: Another name for donkey, with a lisp!  We laughed about that!

Notice the boys lost their ties as soon as the concert was done!
Silly boys.
The 4 of us.
My Peanut
And my Pumpkin!

Dear Jesus,... Love Colesy

So, I'm not sure that you can read this, even if it was rotated correctly and I honestly have TRIED...  anyhow, here it is spelling has not been corrected.

Deer Season continues...

Well, Matt was lucky enough to get  a doe tag as well this year.  Woo hoo!
After he cared for Oscar, he went back out to help the other hunters in their quest.  I finally sent him a text to see WHEN he was going to be home.  The reply :as soon as I get my doe out of the woods.  I thought he was pulling my leg, but no, soon after he showed up with "Patricia". (named by my lovely children).  Patricia is (was) "beautiful"  The difference between Oscar and Patricia, according to Shelby are: O has antlers and P does not.  and P has beautiful eyelashes. O does not. (She looked close, so she knows.)
(and there are no pictures because, apparently, you dont photo a doe!)

Matt spent hours outside skinning and hanging the deer out in the shed (glad we bought that!)  Finally, when I thought he was getting ready to bring in the best of the fresh meat for us to consume, he said, I think we should just get pizza tonight. I'm tired and it will be a while before I can come in.  DONE! I was on the phone ordering in a flash!
And my sweet hunter hubby had yesterday off too, so he got all of Oscar cut up and most of Patricia before we got home from school.  He spared me from the complete grossness of cutting.  And I think I love him once again!

We did have the back straps for dinner last night.  We originally told Colesy it was chicken (every meat in her world is...) and she looked around the kitchen and said, its deer, isnt it? well, yep.  She liked it. Shelby liked it. I even ate it.  The girls and Matt have the left overs for lunch today.  I think I ay just run out and get a burrito or something!

Anyone wanna come for dinner? We got the freezer full of meat.

The offer stands. Permanently.

deer Season

Notice how Colesy is posed to jump out of the truck bed as quickly as possible - in case he          "moves"
Matt shot a nice 7 point this morning.  I say nice because he was excited about it.  I'm not excited.  I HATE deer. They stink and taste bad.  Matt thinks I want to cut it up.  I dont. It is bloody and gross.  and a deer for cryin out loud.  Shelby is intrigued by it.  She says it is cool and a little disgusting.  Colesy is MuCH more like me. She is revolted.  :) I'm glad I have at least one of them trained right!
They named him Oscar while he was still in the back of the pickup. When Matt pulled him out and left blood trails and pools, they were less inclined to like Oscar.  Then when Matt was skinning him, Shelby thought it was cool and Colesy was again still revolted.  Matt cut off Oscars hooves and then 'chased' the girls with them.  Shelby thought it was fun. Colesy wanted to keep them. Why?  Dont know.  I thought she was turning on me!
They also wanted Matt to put the head on his head and put the skin down around his body. He said no. I am glad.  That would have been more than disgusting.
all in all - stellar day.
I gotta go chop.
and vomit.
