Lovely surprise!

Matt sent these to me at school today.  I found them on my desk when I came up from lunch.  He is such a thoughtful guy!  They are so pretty.  And I love him! XOXO :)

The Haunted House look! :) I like the siding better!

storm/screen door

We also got storm doors put up on each door as well.  They turned out pretty good.

Living room

This in the one in the living room.  He installed a door that is 4 inches wider than the one we had.  I think it turned out pretty good!

New Doors, Finally!

Matt has been out of town, and he took the computer with him.  It has been killing me that I have not been able to share the progress.
I've tried for about 45 minutes to upload the pictures, and it doesn't work, so here we go, one at at time!  This in the kitchen door, in, but not finished.

Horse Show

Last weekend, we went to a horse show that Matt's Aunt was in. The girls really liked this horse that was out in front of the barn - in fact they seemed to enjoy this horse more than the show going on inside.  I came out to get them at one point and was unsure if they were following the horse around the circle, or vice versa!  It has one brown and one blue eye.
We took Macy with us. She loves horses and she was a great help with the girls, as usual.

This poor horse was a Clydesdale dressed up in black wooly material.  He was introduced as the only one of his kind, a cross between a Clydesdale and a poodle!  It was hysterical. They even passed out bone shaped carrots for the kids to feed him.  The lady with him was dressed in a poodle skirt. They won some kind of costume award at a big show!  It was a hoot.

Motorcycle ride

It was a little too cold to really enjoy a ride, but we had the perfect opportunity, so how could we stay home?!  We passed a bank sign that said 57, and later passed another one that said 55.
 It was COLD!  But fun!
I'm glad we went.
Dontcha love helmet hair?!

On our day together...

So, it all started way back, about a year ago. I found some cedar grilling planks that I wanted to give Matt for Christmas.  As usual, I hid them and forgot about them.  When Sharilyn was here in June, we moved the fish tank, and my hiding spot was revealed! (YIKES!)  So, 6 months AFTER Christmas, Matt got his grilling planks.
We grilled some fish and some "man-meat" (steak) on them and they were GOOD!  So, Matt started doing some research on how to grill with planks.  He found some pretty good stuff.  We grilled some flat-iron steaks on some Maple that we had (it does come in handy to work at a lumber mill...)  They turned out fabulously.  So, the quest for the perfect recipe was begun.
Matt had originally thought that a smoker was what we wanted. However, when we stopped at Lowes, they had exactly what he had in mind.  So, we made the purchase and stopped for steaks on the way home.  We figured on our day off we should have a special lunch!
We are stuffed, and the charcoal grill has been broken in.  Kevin and Laura and the boys are coming for dinner tomorrow, so we'll let you know how our flat iron steaks turn out on the new charcoal grill.  Until then...
Mom and Dad - we cant wait to have you out!  Everyone else too... :)

Jack-o-lantern ~ Colesy!

Both top teeth are gone now, just 10 days apart!
Daddy pulled both out.  This one took 3 days worth of pulling to get out!
Here she is sticking her tongue through the hole.
