Geography Bee

Well,
Pastor Mark thought it would be a great idea for our school to host the Geography Bee this year. Sure.
So, I over organized and was ready to smoke this event, when all my plans got shot down because of a snow storm. All schools had no school the day the even was scheduled for. I was frustrated.
So, I put everything away and we rescheduled for one month later.
I pulled everything back out and contacted the schools who were planning to come a week and a half before the second date. One of the schools was now unable to bring over half the helpers, plus, about 5 of their students were unable to come as well.
I scrambled around and reworked all the helper assignments and was able to make it work - just barely.
The morning of the Bee (yesterday!) the school bringing the most students, and the most helpers pulled out. So, the girls and I headed for school with a lot on my mind! We got there early, and I began trying to figure out what to do now.....
I'm quite pleased to say that we pulled the day off beautifully. It wen t really smooth, all the schools that came were relaxed and friendly and helpful. (and willing to make last minute adjustments.....)
PAstor Matt opened the day with an amazing praise team. He really set the tone for the day. Upbeat and fun. I was so proud of our school!!!
All DCS staff stepped it up a notch and just did a great job.
And, our students did an exceptional job! DCS took 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th in the final round! Pastor Mark was very happy with that! :)
And my Shelbaloo did the best out of the 5th grade.
And she had fun!

We got 100% positive feedback from all the helpers and the schools that did come.

I was exhausted, but oh so happy and proud of ourselves!

A HUGE thanks to Becky for having my back throughout this whole time, and to Pastor Kenny for co-chairing this event with me. We Rocked! :)
