deer Season

Notice how Colesy is posed to jump out of the truck bed as quickly as possible - in case he          "moves"
Matt shot a nice 7 point this morning.  I say nice because he was excited about it.  I'm not excited.  I HATE deer. They stink and taste bad.  Matt thinks I want to cut it up.  I dont. It is bloody and gross.  and a deer for cryin out loud.  Shelby is intrigued by it.  She says it is cool and a little disgusting.  Colesy is MuCH more like me. She is revolted.  :) I'm glad I have at least one of them trained right!
They named him Oscar while he was still in the back of the pickup. When Matt pulled him out and left blood trails and pools, they were less inclined to like Oscar.  Then when Matt was skinning him, Shelby thought it was cool and Colesy was again still revolted.  Matt cut off Oscars hooves and then 'chased' the girls with them.  Shelby thought it was fun. Colesy wanted to keep them. Why?  Dont know.  I thought she was turning on me!
They also wanted Matt to put the head on his head and put the skin down around his body. He said no. I am glad.  That would have been more than disgusting.
all in all - stellar day.
I gotta go chop.
and vomit.

Thanksgiving Feast at DCS

The school has a program and a feast for the senior saints at our church.  Shelby's class did a turkey poem, and recited the books of the Bible from memory. all 14 kids spoke in unison and they were very clear in their enunciation.  After they quoted them, they did them as quickly as they could!  Genesis through Revelation in 33 seconds.  and again, every book was clearly spoken. I was so proud of all of them!  Shelby dressed up as a pilgrim, and her good friend Jessica dressed like an Indian.  They were too cute!

Kevin's wedding

Jared, Colesy, Ethan, Shelby, Micah
Don't they look handsome/beautiful!
The whole wedding party.

Now I must say that I really don't like my camera.
I think that is the basic reason that I don't take more pictures.
That and I don't think of it!
And that is why there are no more pictures to
represent our trip to Iowa.

Anyhow, the best part of Kevin getting married in IOWA is that Luree lives there!
We left early on Thursday morning.  (6 am)  we drove straight to Davenport Iowa, with only 3 stops.  The girls were absolutely fabulous in the car!  They didnt even pull out the DVD player or anything.  I was very proud of them.  We pulled into the hotel about 4 pm Iowa time.  It took us 11 hours to get there.  We went to dinner and then the girls jumped in the pool.  They swam for an hour before bed. I sat beside the hot tub with my fee dangling in. It was yummy! :)
Friday morning, Luree, Aaron and their 2 kids arrived just before 9.  We had THE best time with them. The kids swam for 5 hours straight. Matt and Aaron talked guns and whatever else they thought of (maybe they never left the gun topic?)
Luree and I had a great visit. She is so good for my moral (sp?).  I always feel energized and refreshed after spending time with her. All too soon, our time together was over.  I'm certainly blessed to have her as a friend.  Thanks Lur!
Anyhow, they left and we got ready for rehearsal.  Off we went.  had rehearsal, spent Saturday at the church doing wedding stuff and reception stuff, and in there some time Nathan called and asked if they could meet us for lunch the next day on our way home.  We consulted the map and decided to just head to Indy in the morning and spend Sunday afternoon and evening with Nathan Jill and Brennan.  That was a nice choice!  We had another chance for a great visit (and good food!) and then Monday we came home. It was a long trip, and a lot of miles, but the trip was good, and I'm glad we had the opportunity to go.
Thanks for taking the time to read!

It's my Birthday!

Shelby and Colesy applying their own whipped topping to the birthday pie!

Me and my two bestest girls!

Colesy helped me blow out my birthday candles.
Not too often, but once in a while, my birthday and Thanksgiving fall on the same day. This was one of those years. It was a fun day, and Debbie was wonderful and made the lunch/dinner feast, so I didnt even have to cook.  THAT was lovely!
Thank you all for the cards and gifts. It was a fun day.

Lovely surprise!

Matt sent these to me at school today.  I found them on my desk when I came up from lunch.  He is such a thoughtful guy!  They are so pretty.  And I love him! XOXO :)
