We had the appointment at Roscoes this morning at 11. We got there in time! and didnt have to wait long to get in. They did a pressure test of some sort - I'm still not up on my ear terms.
Renee (the PA) looked at her and said, she thought her ears had looked worse, but they were still bad, and yes, she wanted Roscoe to look at them over at the hospital. So, we get paperwork of all kinds, and I begin to see that something is happening,
so i ask "what is going on?"
her: OH, she's getting tubes.
me:what does that mean. The most I know about tubes is they go in your ear and my brother had them lots.
her: well, it is a very simple procedure, it only takes about 5 minutes to complete.
me: how do they put them in?
her: they put her out.
me: OUT!?
And now it is time to go. So, we get to the hospital, and I am beginning to understand why she wasnt allowed to eat breakfast this morning. We get to the hospital and Get a gown and a bed in short stay, and I ask her if she wants me to sit on the bed with her or in the chair. She wants me in the bed, so we snuggle together in the bed watching tv while the clock slowly ticks by.
FINALLY, they come to get her, and as they are rolling her bed out of the room, my bestest mother in law appears! I was SO relieved to not have to wait alone in the waiting room. and Roscoe came and said it would take him 3 minutes to do. Well, when she had her tonsils out, she did NOT like the gas, and they had a hard time getting her to sleep. She told me she was already tired, so it shouldnt be as bad! Silly girl. From the time they took her, to the time she was back in her room, was ONE HOUR!!!!!
Anyhow, she had a slow recovery. She finaly got a ride in a wheel chair down to the car, and slept the whole way home, and this is where she has been ever since:
Even when daddy got home and said hi to her, she fell asleep after a 10 second conversation. Poor little girl.
Her only good news is that she gets a day with Grammy tomorrow.
well, that, and hopefully this will help her feel better.... :)
