Bike Ride

After dinner Matt said, I cant promise, but tonight might be a bike ride night.

I said, I cant promise, but if you go, I will too!

So we went. for 11 miles! I thought we were just going around the block!

My legs are tired!

But.... I got a "kick-butt awesome" (Connie's phrase!) new bike, so it was very bearable.

I havent taken a picture of it, but I need to! Here is one I "stole" online.

The Three Amigas!

The girls have a friend from school, named Erin. Last week we had her over for the afternoon. It was SO hot, the only thing to do was go to the pool.
We stayed until the thunderstorm closed down the pool.

The are inseperable at school, and I love how good they play together.

Aren't they cute?

Annual DelGrosso's trip

I'm not sure how many years we have been doing this now, maybe 5?, but we go to this Amusement Park in the summer for a day with friends. Each year the girls get braver about what rides they will try. We usually do the rides for a few hours until we get hungry and then we eat the lunch we packed and then after we eat we go to the water side of the park. It is REALLY fun.
Colesy tried this one this year. The Casino. She liked it. And thankfully, we take Abby with us and she rides ALL the rides that the girls want to ride. Good thing, cuz the older I get, the fewer I can go on! Colesy and Abby are the 2 in the middle.
My favorite is the bumper cars. We go over and over and over! Here is Colesy and Abby together again!

and again...

There is Shelby all by herself!

She scares me behind the wheel!

Perpetual Motion= Colesy!

Shelby

And they also tried the Paratrooper this year. Colesy is alone in the car in front of Abby and Shelby.

There she is!
We got there at 11 when it opened and leftg at 9:15 - just 15 minutes before they closed!

Letter about last summer

So, school supply lists will be sent home this week. We got a jump start today after work. The girls got about 1/2 the things on their lists. Upon arriving at home, they went through everything and then Colesy decided to put it all in her back pack.

Uh~oh!

It still had all the junk from the end of the year LAST year in it! So, she sorted through all that and gave me her writing notebook. Most of it is just stuff they copied for handwriting practice. However, tucked in the middle was a writing assignment that made me smile.

"Dear Mrs. Bundy,

This summer my aunt and uncle came to my house. with my two cousins. we went to pick them up at Sheetz. After we picked them upwe went to a big barn to look at animals. But it was rainy so we just wen tto my house to eat. Then I played with my cousins Alex and Emily, then we played a game, then we baked cokkies when they were done they tasted good. Then then they had to go home they startd packing. I hated saying good by to them. We had a good time with them. I hope they come back soon. This is important because they are my family.

(punctuation was not corrected!:))

She makes me smile. Especially that last line.

July 4th, 2010

We were all able to get together at Nelsons house again.
For those of you who read and dont know who these people are...
On the left is my youngest brother Nelson with Jenn and Emily and Alex
Next to him is my other younger brother Nathan with Jill Brennan and Emmett
Then mom and dad
Me and Matt and Shelby and Colesy
Then my older sister Sharilyn with JT and Parker.

We were all together for the 4th and the 5th. We had a nice visit, even if we were too tired to stay up for fireworks! :)

10 days with Gramsy and Papa Lewis

( I didnt want the flash to wake her, so these are dark!)
are apparently exhausting! Colesy asked me if it was okay to go lay down. "Please, I'm just so tired." Of course.
We'll see how long she sleeps. We played hard and long while mom and dad were here. Lots of fun, lots of memories, lots of ice cream, lots of walks, lots of work, but mostly just lots of fun !!!

Having fun is hard work - and a little creepy

Colesy slept 2 of the 2.5 hours home from Nelsons. Yes, her eyes are open.
and she is 100% completely OUT!

Prizes

Shelby got this balloon dog from a clown at the parade.
I got the Kettle Korn for me. Yum!

The 4th of July on the 3rd

Brockway decided to celebrate the 4th on the 3rd this year. It was helpful to me on a personal level. I was able to help make lemonade for HOURS and then still see the firetruck parade and then I went back to the lemonade and made more until the fireworks.
(Shelby) After the fireworks, we went back to the house where the girls plus Gavin and Gabe did sparklers and had fingerlights.

Shelby and Gavin sharing fire.
And then we were able to go to Nelsons for the real 4th, on the 4th. Course by then, we were too tired to stay up for fireworks on the real holiday. whatever.
Had a super fun time with the family: Mom, Dad, Sharilyn, JT, Parker, Krissy, Matt, Shelby, Colesy, Nathan, Jill, Brennan, Emmett, Nelson, Jenn, Emily and Alex. (17 people in one house!!)
Thanks Nelson and Jenn!!!!

A new OLD toy...

Long ago, this 4-wheeler was Matts - or at least it was Matt's parents' and he rode it. A lot.
He recently brought it home and put a new battery in it and a couple other repairs and now he takes the girls for rides. They like it. I took one. It was fun, but scared me too. I go inside while they ride.
Damien LOVES it! Literally! He runs with them when he can, and tries to keep them in view at all times.
There they go up the bank. Hang on!!!

Its H.O.T.

Even the dog is hot. He didnt even have the energy to stand up to eat last night. just lay right there on the floor and ate.

First Fruits...

Or in this case vegetable! Fresh from our garden.

Parker Dam and Letterboxing

We have discovered something called Letterboxing. It is like geocaching, but different. Not sure how, cuz I've never geocached either, but we wanted to try this letterboxing stuff, and decided to take the adventure with mom and dad.
While looking for the beginning of the trail, Shelby found this ball thing floating and was quite pleased that she was able to fish it out.

The girls and mom found a little dragonfly sitting in the grass. Mom ended up being able to 'sneak' up close to it and getting a good picture of it. :)

Below the dam there are lots of rocks to walk on. Last time we were here, the water was too high and we were unable to walk across.

We found Gavin and Gabe while we were there. The 4 of them had a blast swimming together.

Our New Wheels...

And as it turns out, we were only without wheels for a little over 24 hours. Yippee!!!
2006 Acura MDX with 37K! I LOVE IT!!!

Walk

Well, we got up this morning, and decided to take a walk. We knew we had to do it before it got too hot. We decided we wanted to go to the swinging brigde on Rails to Trails. We also knew we couldn't walk from teh beginning and make it! So, we loaded up and drove to where there should have been about a mile to the bridge. We also decided to take the dog.

We walked and talked and enjoyed the walk. We discovered about a mile up the trail, that we (I) had parked at the wrong place. Oops! So, we decided to turn around. I had planned for the dog to drink when we were at the bridge. But, since we didnt get there, he was getting thirsty. And the girls were so disappointed. I felt badly for them too.

We eventually found a secondary path that led to this little "beach" along the river. The girls were happy to play in the water. Damien got in and drank and splashed too. It was fun, and we made the discovery of a new place to make a destination.
